Quartz surface

Caesarstone

A quartz surface with even colour and pattern. Non-porous, so it doesn't need sealing. For indoor use.

What Caesarstone is

Caesarstone is a brand of quartz surface: crushed natural quartz bound together with resin and pigments, pressed into slabs. Because it's made, the colour and pattern stay even across the whole slab, and there's a wide range of colours, from plain white to marble-look veining.

Caesarstone says quartz is non-porous, so it's generally not necessary to seal it. The resin that makes it so practical also sets its limits: Caesarstone advises always using trivets under hot cookware, and its standard surfaces are for indoor use only.

Good at

  • Even, consistent colour and pattern
  • Non-porous, so it doesn't need sealing
  • Easy daily cleaning with water and mild detergent
  • Wide choice of colours, including marble-look designs

Watch out for

  • Hot pots and pans must go on trivets, never straight on the top
  • Avoid oven cleaner, acetone, caustic soda, paint stripper and other harsh chemicals
  • Standard Caesarstone is indoor only, as UV light can change its colour
  • Slabs come in fixed sizes, so long runs may need a join

Best for

  • Kitchen countertops and islands
  • Vanity tops
  • Splashbacks that match the countertop
  • Office and commercial counters indoors

Looking after it

  • Clean with water and a mild detergent on a soft cloth
  • Always use a trivet under hot pots, pans and appliances
  • Use a chopping board, never cut straight on the top
  • Keep harsh chemicals like oven cleaner and acetone off the surface
