How it works

From your plan to a finished top

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what you need

WhatsApp, call or email us with what you want made, the stone you have in mind and rough sizes. A plan or a few photos of the space help a lot.

  2. Step 2

    Get your quote

We work out the stone, cutting, edges and cut-outs for your job and send you a quote, so you know what you're paying for before anything is cut.

  3. Step 3

    Choose your stone

Pick the material and colour. Natural stone varies from slab to slab, so it's worth seeing the slab your top will come from.

  4. Step 4

    Measure, cut and finish

Final measurements are taken, then the stone is cut to size, the edges are shaped and polished, and the cut-outs for sinks, hobs and basins go in.

  5. Step 5

    Fitted in place

Your top is fitted, levelled and sealed where the stone needs it. We'll tell you how to look after it from day one.

The finishing touch

Pick your edge

The edge is the part of the top you touch every day. These are the profiles people ask for most.

How to choose an edge
  • Square (eased)

  • Pencil round

  • Bevel

  • Half bullnose

  • Full bullnose

  • Ogee

  • Mitred (thick look)

Questions

Common questions

Which stone is best for a kitchen?

Granite and Caesarstone are the two most popular choices for kitchens. Granite is a natural stone that handles heat and acids well. Caesarstone is a quartz surface with an even colour that doesn't need sealing. Marble is beautiful but softer, and acids like lemon juice and wine can leave dull marks on it, so it suits bathrooms, tables and feature pieces better than busy kitchens.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Tell us what you want made, the stone you like (or that you're not sure), rough sizes, the edge you want and any cut-outs for sinks, hobs or basins. A plan, a sketch with measurements or a few photos of the space make the quote quicker and more accurate. Our quote builder puts it all into one WhatsApp or email for you.

Do you work outside Johannesburg?

Yes. We're based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, and we make and install stone tops anywhere in South Africa. Tell us where the job is when you ask for a quote.

Can I use Caesarstone outside?

Not the standard Caesarstone range. Caesarstone says its indoor surfaces should not be used outdoors, because the resin in them is sensitive to UV light and the colour can change over time. Caesarstone makes a separate Outdoor collection for that. For a braai area or patio top, granite is the usual choice.

Who will I be dealing with?

Stone Magic is run by its three owners, Boudene, Basil and Baston. Boudene is your first point of contact for quotes, on 082 495 1524. You can also reach Basil on 071 659 7919, and Baston, who also runs operations, on 084 019 3537.
