What we make

Braai areas and outdoor tops

Braai counters, outdoor kitchens, bar tops and patio tables, in stone that stands up to the weather.

The braai area takes sun, rain, heat and spills, so the stone has to be up to it. Granite is the usual choice outdoors: it's hard, it handles heat and it doesn't fade in the sun.

We make braai counters, outdoor kitchen tops, bar tops and patio tables, with cut-outs for gas braais, sinks and fittings.

Which stone?

Choosing the stone for braai and outdoor

Our first suggestion

Granite

The best choice outdoors. Hard, heat tolerant and colourfast in the sun. Seal it, and reseal over time.

About Granite

Quartz surface

Caesarstone

Standard Caesarstone is for indoor use only, because its resin is sensitive to UV light. Caesarstone makes a separate Outdoor collection.

About Caesarstone

Natural stone

Marble

Not recommended outdoors. It weathers and marks in the sun and rain.

Questions

Common questions

What's the best stone for a braai area?

Granite. It handles heat, doesn't fade in the sun and stands up to the weather. Darker granites also hide marks well.

Can I put a hot grid straight on granite?

Granite handles heat well, but sudden, direct heat can still stress any stone, especially near the edges. A stand or trivet is a good habit.
